Late June approaches and the English summer is heralded with two weeks of premier grass court tennis at SW19 in West London. There are a great many people who are Wimbledon fans without necessarily being tennis fans and to cater for all types of visitor, Wimbledon stage a large retail operation selling branded merchandise from towels to t-shirts and homeware to hoodies.
There are three principal shops on the site, with the Museum Shop being open all year round. This year, Good Egg have designed the window displays in collaboration with IMG, who look after the retail operation on behalf of AELTC (The All England Lawn Tennis Club). The designs use a lenticular image of a crowd watching a tennis match, looking left and right. The rear-illuminated image animates as the viewer walks past, hopefully pausing to recognise that the crowd are all wearing this year’s branded apparel, available in the shops! The main windows face onto Church Road where they will catch the eye of locals and visitors alike.
The lenticular images were photographed by The Club’s resident photographer, Bob Martin (bobmartin.com), printed by lenticular specialists Hive Associates (hiveassociates.co.uk) and the window props were made and installed by Icon & Co (iconandco.co.uk).
